X-tension is eurodance/dancefloor project founded 1996 by producers Fred van Halen and Thomas Bleicher alias Tom Payle, who already kicked-off the techno/rap project "Three4One" and the dreamdance formation "Vision Quest".
In the beginning, X-tension a pure studio project, launched to offer the reproduced song „It´s A Racing Beat“. During the recordings to the second track „Move It“, the potential of the project became obvious which led to idea to get the band on stage. Already their first release was an unexpected success: "Move It" became the official title track of the "DMSB Renault-elf-Pokal Megane Cup", a racing series within the Beru TOP 10 where Fred van Halen participated as a race driver.
The first live presentation took place in the Grugahalle during the Essen Motorshow, where X-tension inspired the invited guests both musically and choreographically. Apart from the limited edition produced for Renault, "Move It" was released in 1997 as a standard Maxi-CD, which included the radio edit and club mix, accompanied by two versions of "It´s A Racing Beat".
In the studio, both producers were busy writing additional songs for the planned album, which were performed live on various occasions, lastly during the "Dancefloor On Ice" festival, which took place by the end of 1999 in the indoor ice rink of Kreuzlingen (Lake Of Constance). In the same year, X-tension released another Maxi-CD entitled "It´s Christmas" featuring a radio edit of the title track as well as the two new songs "Stay (With Me)" and "Take Me". Shortly after the release, rapper Alfredo and singer Helle quite the project, resulting in the projected album never being finished.
Only 15 years later, in the autumn of 2013, X-tension regrouped. At first with singer Lana and rapper Svetoslav Yankov, by the end of 2016, singer Sabina Schweizer took over as lead vocalist. All songs are again written and produced by the original X-tension founder Tom Payle.
In 2013 X-tension song "It's Christmas" which is originaly from 1999 comes with some new mixes and brand new lead vocals from Lana and raps from Svetoslav Yankov aka Mr.Pulse.
In 2014 is released album "The Lost Tapes 1996-1999".
In 2015 project released song "Stay The Night" featuring vocals from Lana and raps from Svetoslav Yankov.
In the end of 2016 german singer Sabina Schweizer join X-tension and replace Lana as lead vocalist.
"Stay The Night" (Nightlife Mix) is the first release with the brand new X-tension lineup, featuring singer Sabina Schweizer and rapper Svetoslav Yankov. It is exclusively released by 3H Records on "Eurodance Club Vol. 1 Back2Basic", available for download or on physical CD.
