Newborn 90s is back with new music

Started in Scotland and debuted in 2020

Newborn 90s is a Eurodance project founded in Scotland in 2019, with its first releases arriving in 2020. Its purpose was clear from the beginning: create new songs that carried the musical spirit of the 1990s.
EurodanceMag introduced the project on 14 February 2020, the release day of its debut single, “No Time Lost.” The magazine’s early report described a Scotland-based producer working with a singer and a rapper, all united by a lasting affection for the club music of their youth.

By June 2020, contemporary coverage identified the original team as Jack on production, Freya on vocals and Mambo on rap. Their influences included 2 Unlimited, 2 Brothers on the 4th Floor, Masterboy and Cappella. These names help place Newborn 90s within the revival of the vocal-and-rap Eurodance format: music built around memorable sung melodies, rhythmic verses and dancefloor energy. This is the documented launch lineup; the sources checked do not establish whether the same vocal lineup performs on every later release.

Songs built across distance the group explained how the first two songs took shape. Jack prepared the instrumental foundations and sent them to Freya, who developed vocal melodies and lyrics. After revisions, Mambo added his rap contribution. Jack then completed the arrangement, mixing and mastering. Working remotely allowed the members to fit the project around distance and other commitments. Their emphasis was on taking the time to finish each song properly.

No Time Lost

"No Time Lost" introduced the project in February 2020. Its subject was enduring friendship, inspired by the producer’s school friends and almost three decades of shared experiences. That personal background gave the debut a connection to real memories as well as to an older musical style.
EurodanceMag’s launch-day feature presented the story and linked readers directly to the release. Spotify dates the single 14 February; the artist’s Bandcamp edition carries 15 February.

I Feel Alive

The second single “I Feel Alive,” followed on 29 May 2020. The group described it as an upbeat summer track intended to bring some positivity during the pandemic. EurodanceMag covered it on 30 May, identifying 90s Powertunes as the label and awarding five stars. Together, the February and May articles document the magazine’s support during the project’s first release year.

Remixes and Compilations

The Newborn 90s name also appears on remix and edit credits beyond its own singles. Documented titles include “Sugar” by B.G. The Prince Of Rap, Chrizz Morisson(R.I.P) and Timi Kullai; “Feel Free” by Chrizz Morisson(R.I.P) and Fio; “U Got 2 Believe Me” by Maxxima; and Eurotronic recordings of “Tribal Dance” and “I Dream of You Tonight.”
These credits connect the project to the wider contemporary Eurodance scene. The catalogue below distinguishes confirmed store entries from versions preserved in secondary tracklists, where release dates and availability are less clear.

Six-year break

After a six-year break, Newborn 90s returned to the scene in 2026 with “Destiny,” followed by “Summer Is Magic” and “Every Weekend,”. The three releases mark a new chapter for the project, bringing its love of 90s Eurodance back to the dance floor.

Destiny

“Destiny” pairs a driving dance rhythm with a melodic vocal hook, keeping the spirit of 90s Eurodance close to the surface. The contrast between the energetic backing and the more emotional melody gives it its appeal. Repetition makes the chorus easy to remember, although more variation would give the arrangement extra lift. A straightforward, nostalgic track with its strongest moments in the chorus.

Summer Is Magic

“Summer Is Magic” brings a cheerful holiday mood to a steady Eurodance beat. Bright synth melodies and an easy-to-follow vocal refrain give it an immediate, nostalgic appeal. The chorus carries the song, while the arrangement keeps things simple and moving. A little more variation would add excitement, but its carefree atmosphere makes it a natural fit for summer dance playlists.

Every Weekend

“Every Weekend” goes straight for the dance floor, pairing a firm beat with bright synths and an uncomplicated party hook. The vocal refrain gives the track its identity, keeping the mood light and easy to join in with. Its familiar Eurodance formula works best when the melody takes centre stage, though the chorus could use a stronger final lift. Catchy, straightforward weekend listening.

From its 2020 debut to the releases of 2026, Newborn 90s has remained a name for listeners interested in new music rooted in classic Eurodance. Its documented story combines original singles, contributions to other artists releases and support from specialist music media.
For EurodanceMag, the connection reaches back to the very first single—an early chapter that can still be traced through the magazine’s archive.
