Johnny La Rock is new eurodance artist from US!

Dance To The Rhythm (Party Time) is the brand new single from Cleveland electronic artist, Johnny La Rock. The extremely upbeat pop jam is a departure from his 2015 instrumental downtempo hip-hop release, SPLITTAPE. The new song is heavily influenced by the Eurodance style of the '90s. La Rock was heavily into the genre as a youngster, collecting cassettes by artists like La Bouche, Snap!, The KLF, and the Real McCoy. Dance To The Rhythm (Party Time) is the first in a series of new dance singles that La Rock will be releasing throughout 2017. It's available now on digital outlets like iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and Bandcamp, and comes with two remixes - a chiptunes one by himself, and another from his longtime musical partner, Furface. The track was mixed and mastered by Cauliflower Audio's Adam Boose, who also played additional synths on the cut. Ladies and gentlemen, the Eurodance revival has begun!

90s eurodance sensation Maxx is back!

Famous 90’s Eurodance act Maxx is best known for the hit singles “Get-A-Way,” “No More (I Can’t Stand It)” and “You Can Get It.” The act was formed in Berlin, Germany in 1993 by music executive David Brunner (aka The Hitman) and music producer Jürgen Wind (aka George Torpey). During MAXX’s initial two year run (1993-1995), the act itself went through noticeable changes with its female lead singers. By mid-1994, MAXX had quickly grown to become one of Europe’s new dance music sensations due to their creative mixture of ragga style rap, female singing and distinctive dancefloor beats.
In late 1995 due to major internal conflicts within the group and drops in record sales, MAXX broke up.

After 20 years since the breakup of MAXX, original vocalist Linda Meek (aka Elyse) reunited with MAXX creators David Brunner and Jürgen Wind in August 2016. The three began making plans to reform MAXX with a new rapper. In December 2016, ‘Elijah MC’ was officially recruited into the act as MAXX’s new rapper and frontman. Elijah is a multi-talented UK based rapper, singer, songwriter and musician who specializes in Jamaican style rap and reggae style singing.

For almost two decades, MAXX fans all over the world have awaited for an official return of the group and to hear new MAXX music. In the year 2017, the fans will finally get their wish.

Tracklist:

Don't U Get Me Like This (eurodance mix)

All The Time

Meet This Day (eurodance mix)

Snow White Love

Flying High(power mix)

About EP Joel Kalsi(DCX): I used to make some trendy EDM in past years but grew out of it -- the trend sound of each year soon became boring and I wanted to produce something that hardly anyone else is doing right now, something that has more energy and hook than the current trend sound, and yet something that has a lot of listeners. It felt so liberating to produce music with no limits and no pre-cursors. It was plain fun and enjoyment, often times with goose bumps! Been enjoying the EP a lot myself!

New single from X-Tension is "Stay The Night"

New single from german eurodance or dancefloor project X-Tension is finally out and it's released under Synsongs. Here is some info about single:

"Stay The Night" was originally meant to be separate Maxi-CD release in 1998, but after many Eurodance bands decided to release Christmas songs,X-Tension have written and produced "It´s Christmas" in parallel. Because it was quite expensive to release physical CDs back then and group wanted the Christmas single out but did not have a B-side ,than added "Stay" as additional track. Unfortunately, this decision led to "Stay" not getting much attention, because the CD vanished after Christmas in the shelves. Since it was always one of our favourite tracks and did receive a great reception during our "Dancefloor On Ice" performance, project thought it´s a good idea to re-record it. "Stay The Night" is also one of the few songs (if not the only one) which actually feature singing during the rap parts. When project recorded the raps in the studio with a former rapper, he suddenly came to us and said: "I really love the raps, but I would also like to sing here and there." So we thought that we could just insert a few sing lines - and so he did both, the raps and male singing parts. After mixing the original version, we realized that the vocals were too thin, so our previous engineer and Thomas recorded additional vocals which are heard on "X-Tension - The Lost Tapes". In this 2015 remake, this singing is kept - but Lana record the additional parts.

The download EP includes "Stay The Night and the balearic "Days Of Summer Mix", ideal for the last balmy summer nights with it's relaxed groove and guitar sounds.

Interview with Patrick Thomson(Acting Lovers)

Igor: Hello,Patrick

Patrick: Hi Igor  Igor: When you begin with music?

Patrick: My first contact with music was way back in kindergarten. I was learning playing orchestra bells. In elementary school me and a classmate wanted to learn something different and so we went to musical school for learning keyboards. I did that for 10 years including some classical piano. During this time I already composed some songs, but me and my cousin mostly used songs I’ve learnt in school for our “project”. The “real” music making started in 1997 with some great ideas for a dance project. I still was working with my cousin on our project and we released some CDs and had some gigs. In 2004 I was talking to a very good friend of mine, Jack Summers, about creating a Eurodance project. I think it was because of David Brandes discontinuing E-Rotic. Yeah, and these days I’m working on some new stuff for my German projects and Acting Lovers.

Igor: Why Eurodance?

Patrick: Well, that’s simple. I grew up in the 90s and Eurodance, Dance, Happy Hardcore were the styles I really liked. My first CD was Whigfield’s Saturday Night, followed by E-Rotic’s Max don’t have sex. I always liked the clean, straight and with a lot of heart produced songs from BROS Music (that includes Chris Norman, BBB, etc. as well) and of course I wanted to create something like that, too.

Igor: How you can describe your style?

Patrick: I won’t deny that E-Rotic and David Brandes’ songs were influencing our stuff, but I would say that we definitively had and still have our own way to create music and stuff. I think we evolved from album to album and on our current album “Fun after Midnight” you can hear modern sounds, mixed with 90s lyrics and sounds. I think it’s important to not ignore the way music goes today, but I really like to go back to the roots sometimes.

Igor: In 90s we have too many eurodance groups and releases, but at end of the 90s Eurodance slowly lose  popularity. What is reason?

Patrick: I think there were too many Eurodance projects at the end of the 90s. People simply lost interest in keeping up with it and eventually got tired of the sound. But in other countries like Japan the Eurodance sounds was popular until 2004 and then Hands Up and Trance took over.

Igor: After great success of 90s,coming much commercial version of eurodance Hands Up.What you think about that style?

Patrick: Yeah, Hands Up. I never really liked that kind of music. It sounds cheap with too much bass and too less lyrics. But there are some projects that made nice Hands Up songs.

Igor: Where you find inspiration for songs?

Patrick: That’s an interesting question. Well, some songs contain personal experiences. Sometimes I get inspiration from something someone tells me. Most of the ideas come from certain events or people I talk to. I also get inspired by other Eurodance projects, old 90s CDs and sometimes a songs just comes out by simply playing on the piano.

Igor: Acting Lovers and you doing great job,4 studio albums. What is your favourite?

Patrick: I never thought we would do 4 albums. I am very happy and grateful to have this amazing people around working on Acting Lovers and on album No.5 and something special. Anyway, my favourite Acting Lovers album is Erotic Secrets. It is IMHO the one with the biggest diversity.

Igor: Other favourite genres,exept eurodance?

Patrick: I’m also listening to Rock and Pop, Country, Folk, bands like Meat Loaf, Aerosmith, Roxette. I’m a big fan of Tina Turner and Joachim Witt. Yeah, I have a broad taste of music.

Igor: What you think about other new groups/artists?

Patrick: It’s amazing that so many people keep this great sound of Eurodance alive. And they all do a great job. Just listen to Pulse of the Beat or Free 2 Night. Amazing sound and very talented and gifted musicians.

Igor: Thank you,Patrick for this interview.

Patrick: Thank you and keep up the good work for all Eurodance fans out there.
